How did you hear about teamLUST, and what made you consider applying? An old raid buddy named Ninez I remember used to raid with you guys. There were a few times last expansion I came in on heroic and mythic kills when we stopped progression raiding a few weeks while I was in Antisocial Club on Hyjal. Will you be able to maintain 90% attendance? Most definitely. What, if any, conflicts do you anticipate with this schedule? I don't anticipate any immediate conflicts. I don't expect to have crazy hours on the wards at the hospital or at school next year. Describe your overall guild history from what you remember, starting when you began raiding. Why did you leave or why were you removed from previous guilds?
I will spare you the details and filler guilds.
TBC/WOTLK: <Foundation> on Boulderfist. We were US 80-90 all expansion. I mainly played my Warlock at the time and then played a hunter in our alt runs. We obtained every Realm First clear while I was in that guild on Boulderfist.
Cata: <Enigma>on Deathwing. Raided with them all of tier 11/12 and then part of tier 13. I mainly played my warlock and then switched to a DK. The highest rank we got was US3rd in Dragon Soul. Once they disbanded, I raided with a friend in a guild called <Traumatic> that was top US100 only.
Mists: <Traumatic> on Deathwing. I only raided the first tier with them up to heroic Sha of Fear. Took a break for personal reasons. I later came back in SOO and cleared the raid with my friends.
WOD: I raided with a friends guild on Mal'ganis called <Button Mashers> up until Mythic Blackhand progress. I then joined <No Medal Boys> and finished the foundry tier in top 100 US. We started out in Hellfire and got the first 5 bosses down on mythic before the guild disbanded. I then joined <Antisocial Club> on Hyjal and obtained US13 Archimonde with them. The guild mentality shifted and became more social and less about pursuing higher ranks so I left them.
Legion: I have played this expansion more casually as I was in my 2nd year of medical school and the expansion was too "grindy" for me. I have sense allocated more time for raiding and started raiding with a bunch of friends in <Synergos> on Illidan. We have killed the first 6/11 on Mythic and progressed on Vari and Coven but received no kills. I am familiar with all of the fights though. I have also killed the first few bosses on a DH (Vengeance/Havoc) and a Blood DK. I am comfortable with these classes as well.
I understand that my logs are not orange or some of the best. This group I have been running with has elected to do strange strats at times with 3 tanks on garoth/hounds/kinga or having a lack of heals at times. I understand and accept that these are not excuses, but I can show logs from last expansion as well to prove my competency (if but only with the lock). I am willing to explain in further details or get better logs if needed.
The current guild I am raiding with, Synergos, has been hemorrhaging players all tier apparently and we have been bringing in new people each week to attempt to get Kingaroth down and then work on Varimathras. I still have a great relationship with the leaders in the guild and they have discussed with myself and other friends in the guild that we have their "good grace" to leave.
What was your favorite raiding experience? What did you learn? I can't even recall what my first raiding experience was. It was probably back in TBC when I started doing Naxx with a group of friends. I just remember the excitement of killing bosses after long work put into studying the fights. If anything, these experiences showed the amount of effort and work that goes into killing a boss. The most enjoyable part about raiding is building interpersonal relationships with guildmates that have a like-minded progression mind. I enjoy having fun and joking around with people outside of raid, but I enjoy having a group of people that want to kill bosses.
More about you
What motivates you to raid in a mythic progression guild? What drives you to keep raiding? What drives you to be the best player you can be? My previous raid history experience is what drives me. After having raided at such high calibers, I put myself and others on a pedestal of expectation. Parses are a way for me to gauge how I am doing or benefiting my group. When my parses are low I take that to heart and go back to the research board. I always strive to end each tier by having orange parses across the board on whichever toon I play. There is always room for improvement and I am no where near satisfied with my current play. I can continue to get better and develop myself.
What would you consider to be your best and worst qualities? Try not to mention things already in this application: My best quality or trait is my drive. I will do whatever it takes to get the boss down and know my class. I will put in the hours to assist myself and others because I know what it means to be a team player in a guild. If one person falters, the entire guild falters. I am there to help out as much or as little as needed. I often put the needs of others ahead of myself so that would be a horrible trait for me. I often sacrifice my own needs for the needs of others. In a raid environment, this can be viewed as me sacrificing social or my own time to assist others in the guild.
How much time do you put into the game outside of raiding and how do you feel about Mythic+ dungeons? I came back late into the expansion but M+s are the way of the future. They are the best way to gear at the start of an expansion. I have 6 toons that I currently have at 2k-4k rating. I sell runs on them each week. I would say I probably play an extra 10-12 hours outside of raiding a week. It really depends though on my schedule as I often put in more if I have no research that needs to be done.
Do you have any questions or final comments for us? I have no further comments at this time. I just wanted to say some follow-up words though about my attitude with raiding and where I currently am. I understand that my lack of kills atm (I have experience on coven and Vari despite not killing them though) can be worrisome, but I hope that my attitude with raiding and my experience in previous expansions is good enough to warrant a discussion with you all.
I think that my attitude with a raiding environment has been shaped over the years given my range of experience with varying guilds. I would say that in terms of progression, I make every attempt to learn the boss while PTR is going on. This usually means that I am testing on PTR and discussing fights/statistics with other relevant players in top guilds. I develop my own WAs for abilities while I am learning the fight as well.
Once actual live progression starts, I do everything/anything to ensure that the bosses are killed. By this, I mean that if it is necessary for me to sit or kill my DPS in order to kill the boss, then that is what I do. Gear and other such things do not matter to me. The progression of the guild takes all precedence.
When farming begins for the tier, I still keep a similar progression-minded attitude. This does not mean that I do not have fun with my guildmates or joke around while raiding, but I know when to be serious and buckle down. No one enjoys wiping on farm content, so if that occurs, I know when to quit joking around. I know a lot of my guilds in the past sell runs during this "farm" time, so I make sure I am available and still treat the "farm" content just as seriously and make time for it just as any regular raid day.
Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter. And sorry for how long this app might be.
Thanks for taking the time to apply to our guild! We would like to go ahead and trial your Hunter. Get in touch with an officer in game for an invite to the guild, Valythe, Druiman, Muse, Wenora, or Broiled. You can add me on bnet as well if you have any questions Valythe#1677.
