Age: 21 Location and Timezone: Columbus Ohio (Eastern Time) Tell us about yourself outside of the game. What are your other interests? I work for Amazon 4 days a week, have a full bar in my house, love comic books and games. Other main game I play is Overwatch (Pharah main).
Character Name: Pertussis Battletag: CthulusNuts#1315 Working Armory Link: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/malganis/pertussis Class and Specialization: Fire/Frost Mage Do you have any relevant alts or previous mains we should know about? Nope Provide a screenshot in an active combat situation, preferably a raid: I'll do one better, here is Mythic Nythendra (very little amount of raiding done this xpac) progression where I beat Fabrications in DPS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJPKxTrIt1w Include relevant Warcraft Log parses: Logs won't tell much as I only have 1-2 mythic parses this xpac.
How did you hear about teamLUST, and what made you consider applying? Fabrications is a friend of mine.
Will you be able to maintain 90% attendance? Yes.
What, if any, conflicts do you anticipate with this schedule? 1130 is awfully late for me but it wouldnt be the first time I have stayed up late.
Describe your overall guild history from what you remember, starting when you began raiding. Why did you leave or why were you removed from previous guilds? I have been an officer and spent extended time in almost every guild I have been in, and have raid lead multiple raid teams through multiple raid tiers. I started raiding casually in Wrath before getting into more semi hardcore raiding in Cata (6/7H Firelands Pre-DS, 6/8H DS). I took a break for MoP because of school, and came back in WoD where I created/ran/raid lead for an 11/13 Mythic HFC team before we stopped raiding while waiting for Legion. We quickly killed a few Mythic bosses in EN before too many members left for better options and we decided to stop running our own guild. I joined Aint Misbehavin EXTREMELY briefly and trialed on their Mythic Xavius progression night and got my Cutting Edge for him, and killed Heroic Helya a couple days after release before I had to leave WoW again because of a new job in a new city, moving, and a new GF all at once. However now I am settled down and ready to get back into raiding mythic.
What was your favorite raiding experience? What did you learn? My favorite raiding experience is the first time that my guild killed Mythic Gorefiend. We had just moved from an extremely low pop server with some terrible players and sitting at 5/13 M for a long time, so when we moved to Mal'Ganis we did a ton of recruiting, boss strategies, practice, and killed it after 131 total wipes. I learned that its a hell of a lot more enjoyable to put in the effort and progress on a boss for a few weeks than to join a guild on their farm night and ride along for the kill.
What motivates you to raid in a mythic progression guild? What drives you to keep raiding? What drives you to be the best player you can be? The biggest two things that make me love mythic progression raiding is the competition, I always want to be #1 in dps, even if it is just farm bosses we have killed a dozen times. The other is wanting to find that next amazing boss fight. I still remember my first time killing The Lich King, Ragnaros, Blackhand, and (Mythic) Gorefiend. I have individual memories throughout the years that I will remember for years to come like the moment I walked into my first raid as an 12 year old kid scared to death that I was going to fuck up and cause the adults on vent to yell at me, only to find out that Naxx 25 was a complete fucking joke. Or clutching Army of the Dead to taunt the boss at 2% on our first Sindragosa kill, popping older Combustion on the Whelps on Halfus in BoT and seeing more numbers on my screen than you thought possible, Ice Block clutching our first Madness of Deathwing kill as the last alive letting DoTs kill DW, 131 wipes on Mythic Gorefiend finally paying off, Tyrant Velhari (my personal least favorite boss I have ever progressed on in the history of WoW) finally dying after 72 wipes. I play for those moments and every time I enter a raid I am looking to make more of them.
What would you consider to be your best and worst qualities? Try not to mention things already in this application: My best qualities as a raider would be some that I got as a raid leader. Like the fact that I am always the first person ready after a wipe, immediately release, food buff, rune, flask and lets go go go. Also I absolutely never want to be the person to fuck up and die when I was just explaining the fight to everyone else so I always make sure to take notes at what I am doing on each fight before I go into it. Also, idgaf if I win a piece of gear or if someone else does. No one has to worry about loot disputes from me because I'll just get the piece next week. However my worst quality as a raider would have to be that I get insanely annoyed when other people don't do some of the things I listed above.
How much time do you put into the game outside of raiding and how do you feel about Mythic+ dungeons? It depends week to week, right now we are in our peak season at work so lots of OT, but after Christmas I will be on a few hours a day at least if I am not already. In terms of Mythic Dungeons, I always try to do at least 4-5 high ones each week, and absolutely under no circumstances don't get at least 1 level 10 done in a week.
Do you have any questions or final comments for us? I am still working on catching my Mage back up, currently only have 2 pieces of tier and missing my best Legendary and an artifact at 67, so I more aiming for Antorus in a few weeks.
Thank you for taking the time to apply to our guild! We would like to trial you starting in Antorus and since that seems to be what you are aiming for anyway it works out. If you have any questions let me know! Bnet: Valythe#1677
